Kamal Hassans upcoming spy thriller ‘Viswaroopam’ release
has been postponed and the movie will be releasing on January 25.The talks
between Kamal Haasan and Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association (TNTOA) have
been going on for some while now regarding the relase of the movie via DTH
platforms.Now both the parties have come to a mutual understanding and Kamal
has agreed to postpone Vishwaroopam to January 25 with assurance from
distributors and theatre owners of a strong theatre release with almost 400-500
screens in Tamil Nadu alone.
The details about the scheduled DTH telecast is still unclear at the moment. A press release is expected to take place in a couple of days to elaborate on the discussions and the terms of agreement and also throw light on the DTH screening.Vishwaroopam was originally scheduled to release on January 11 with premier on January 10 in DTH platform.Now the tamil version of the movie will be releasing on January 25th.Details of the telugu and hindi version release are yet to be announced.
In-line with the postponement of the release date of the movie Vishwaroopam [Tamil & Telugu]/Vishwaroop [Hindi] across theaters and on the DTH platform by Rajkamal Films, the DTH companies have stopped taking bookings for the movie premiere.Meanwhile the theatres have also stopped taking advance booking .This news comes as a big disappointment to Kamal's fans who were eagerly awaiting the movie release for pongal.
